School Council

Welcome to our School Council

What is School Council?

At Coleshill, we respect and value the opinions of our pupils and the School Council gives pupils a forum to share these opinions with members of staff and have their voices heard.

School Council Class Representatives

Each class democratically elects two class representatives to attend a weekly meeting with Miss Keep and put forward thoughts and ideas on their behalf.  We will discuss topics such as school improvements, charity and fundraising, playground developments and school events.

Our first school council session started reintroducing school council and we are currently holding elections to democratically elect our class council representatives!

Reception: Daphne and Wolfie

Year 1: Ruby and Tommy

Year 2: Conrad and James

School Council Missions!

Mission 1: Charity

Our first mission as a school council was to make suggestions for a charity that our school could support this year and vote on one.  Lots of suggestions were put forward in our class School Council meetings and collated by Miss Keep.  Four charities were picked at random and then voted on by all pupils and staff members.  The four finalists were: Suited and Booted, Stokenchurch Dog Rescue, 52 lives and The Children's Trust.  The charity that received the most votes was The Children's Trust, a charity that provides rehabilitation for children with a brain injury along with education, community services and support for their families.  For more information about their fantastic work, visit their website: https://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/.

Mission 2: Red Nose Day - Comic Relief!

In our class school council meetings, we learned a little about what Red Nose Day was and why we raise money for Comic Relief.  We put forward ideas on how we could raise money for this charity and these ideas were then collated and given to Mrs Hewat to contribute to our Red Nose Day plan!
