Computing

Intent

At Coleshill, our intention is to promote an understanding and curiousity about the new technological world in which we live and to provide children with the skills and knowledge on e-safety to keep themselves safe and to use technology safely. We aim for children to be equipped to use a range of technological apparatus and provide them with opportunities to experience a range of suitable software programs.   We develop our children’s skills in a wide range of areas including word processing, programming, keyboard skills and e-safety to enable them to be equipped for our ever-changing technological modern world.

Implementation

In Reception, Computing is taught within our Early Years Curriculum and at Key Stage 1, both Year 1 and Year 2 study Computing across the year.  Please read our Computing Policy and Progression of Skills for further information:

Impact

Here is what some of our pupils say about why it is important to learn Computing and what they have enjoyed learning the most:

Conrad- I have enjoyed computing because I liked making the presentations about ourselves

Joshua – I like computing because I like learning about Powerpoint.

Dougie – I like computing because you get to do coding and make things move.
