Wednesday 12th June 2024 Today, we finally got to hold our chicks! We were all very excited but made sure we were all very careful and gentle.
Monday 10th June 2024 As part of our Art unit on Sculpture, Year 2 had a visit from Mrs Keep who showed us all how to centre clay and throw a pot on her pottery wheel. We also talked about different ways we can decorate it and how it gets fired in the kiln. We looked at lots of things she has made and had a go using the wheel ourselves - it was much harder (and much more slippery!) than we thought it would be!
Wednesday 5th June 2024 On Monday, we were all very excited to have some eggs arrive at our school in an incubator. Today, they started to hatch!
Thursday 23rd May 2024 Year 2 were very excited today to release our three butterflies into the garden. The two remaining chrysalides will be going home with one of us to be looked after until they also emerge! We have very much enjoyed watching grow from tiny caterpillars.
Wednesday 22nd May 2024 - The Year 2 children did a fabulous job performing their recorder concert to parents and other family members. They played eight different songs in total and really enjoyed performing for everyone. Thank you to everyone who came!
On Friday 10th May 2024 Year 1 and 2 travelled to Holmer Green Senior school for an inter-school athletics festival. They took part in a number of sporting activities and had a brilliant afternoon.
On Friday 19th April 2024 our Reception class travelled to Holmer Green junior school for an inter-school multisports festival. They took part in a number of sporting activities, which worked on ther gross motor skills, balance and fitness
Year 2 had a visit from the NSPCC and talked about the importance of "Speak out, stay safe". We talked about safe adults we could speak to in and out of school, and thought about a safe space we could go to if we needed.
On Friday 19th January 2024 our Reception class travelled to Holmer Green junior school for an inter-school gymnastics festival. They took part in a number of gymnastics based activities, which worked on ther gross motor skills, balance and flexibility.
The children had a fantastic time at Whipsnade zoo on 28th November 2023, learning about animals and their habitats and behaviour. They explored the zoo and did educational workshops with the staff.
Om 29th September 2023, Year 1 and Year 2 travelled to Holmer Green Senior School to participate in an inter-school football festival. The children all had a brilliant time in the sunshine and fresh air, using gross motor skills and coordination.
