INSPIRING LIVES FOREVER
"Let your light shine"
Matthew 5: 15-16

Intent

At Coleshill, our intention is that pupils leave our school with the knowledge, skills and strategies required to enable them to make decisions about the different opportunities and challenges that life presents and to make informed choices that enable them to be healthy and safe.  We enable our children to be able to recognise and manage their feelings as well as explore issues that are real and relevant to them in a safe and managed environment. We aim for all children to be happy, healthy and safe and equipped for life as an adult in Modern Britain and to demonstrate our core Christian values of Love, Honesty, Respect, Perseverance, Resilience and Stewardship in everyday life.

Implementation

At Coleshill, PSHE is taught following the PSHE Association Scheme of Learning.  Please read our PSHE Policy and Progression of Skills for further information:

Impact

Here is what some of our pupils say about why it is important to learn PSHE and what they have enjoyed learning the most:

Freddie – PSHE is important because we learn how to be safe like road safety, water safety, fire safety and bike safety.

Oliver - I think PSHE is important because if you don’t learn PSHE you might not know which job to get.  I enjoyed it when we talked about how words have power and we scrunched a piece of paper to show how people’s words can effect other people.

Quinn - I think PSHE is important because you can talk about your feelings.

Conrad – I enjoyed making dream catchers when we learned about how important sleep is.

Quinn – I enjoyed when we did the word search about sun safety.

Joshua – I really enjoyed the Stay Away From The Edge water safety because I liked spotting what people were doing like swinging on a tree above the water.

Dougie – I really enjoyed doing the puzzle all about me.

Jeremy – My favourite was when we learning about the jobs that people do.
