  • Congratulations to Year 1 children on their Talent for Writing Awards

    Fri 06 Mar 2020

Year 1 entered a Young Writer’s Competition with the theme being Animal Adventures. The style of poetry that the children were required to write in was to write an acrostic poem and so we decided to link the poetry to our Rainforest topic and we wrote acrostic poems about the rainforest.

We were delighted to find out that all of the work submitted from Coleshill was chosen to be published and all the children who entered received a certificate, book mark and sticker. The competition received an excess of 15,000 entries so we are super proud of our Year 1 children.

All of the children created their favourite book character out of a wooden spoon and craft materials.  It was lovely to see the imagination in these beautiful creations and we were very impressed with all of the hard work.

Three children were awarded a £5 book token in the competition.  Well done to Samuel, Reception, (snake from The Gruffalo) Archie, Year 1 (Supertato by Sue Hendra) and Henry, Year 2, (Geronimo by David Walliams)

Well done to all of the children, who all received a £1 book token to spend on a book of their choice.
